Super Singer in Vijay TV has been a very good programme to watch. It is really amazing how these youngsters (young stars) perform. I have been a great fan of this programmes both the seniors as well as the Juniors. To me the Airtel Super Singer Junior has been a tremendous programme to showcase the talent of such young kids.
The Super Singer Junior 4 has now reached a level where they are going to select the Top 10 very soon. They would also have the wild card round and when it finally reaches the Finalists of top 5 it would be great to watch the competition among the children.
Srihari is also a very talented and good singer and how can we forget the little wonder Angeline. From the beginning she has been one of the star performers. At that age I wonder how she is able to remember the whole song and reproduce it with such ease and elegance.

Pravasthi is a very talented singer and has given some remarkable performances over the last few months. I would rate her Engengae Engengae song at the top so far:

Spoorthi is another wonder kid. She sings every song with such ease and her pronunciation is so perfect despite the fact that Tamil is not her mother tongue. Ninaithu Nianithu parthen is one of the super performance that she has given particularly the long sustaining notes and the breathe control with which she sings is truly mind blowing:.jpg)
Bharath is a born entertainer. He not only sings well but also has the unique appeal for the audience.
His voice modulation and expressions are outstanding and truly unbeleivable for his age. I quite liked his Rukku Rukku rendition as it had all the ingredients for a super performance:

Srisha is another participant who has come in the earlier year. She has matured a lot in her singing and has been performing well consistently. Over the last few weeks she has been getting the chocolate shower almost every week with some very good performance. Her rendition of Enaduyire was exceptional and truly brought out her full potential and talents:

Haripriya is not new to Super Singer and this year she is giving some extraordinary performances. I was completely mesmerized by her performance in Azhagan Muruganidam:
With many more rounds to go and wild card entry possibilities for some of the contestants, we do not know how this will turn out. However I feel the above five will make it to the Finalists of the Super Singer Junior 4. Let us wait and watch or keep watching and waiting.

ReplyDeleteI think mano's awarding showers are farce, not supported by merits. Few people eventhough got some remarks, they got showers. Few eventhough got some good comments, did not get showers. Its only politics.. I have no comments on the finalists as they are doing well. But discouraging some contestants like Jessica & Anal continuously is a well planned strategy. ReplyDeleteWatching this program from the very beginning I consider Bharat as the Very Best performer and be eligible for winning this title. He has given all varieties of songs which no one has given in any super singer performance like this so far. He has tremendous potential to shine in the years to come even if he fails to reach No1 at present against reality since he is a male competitor in comparison with others by gender and age.

Give the judgement to the deserving child. No doubt Haripriya is a good singer but she cannot compete with the little children like spoorthy and pravasti. She should compete to her age group. Judement should be for the deserving child and not by SMS voting which is influenced by their individuality and not the right judgement.

I think Bharath should win it all but Haripriya will win from public support due to sympathy support. In any event all 5 are winners and the future in playback is looking brighter for them.

ReplyDeleteHari Priya doesn't deserve to be finalist at all. She is creating sympathy by the dads expiry and moms tears. Spoorthi is very strong in classical and she is good at choosing difficult songs and she makes it up very well and definitely deserves to be the finalist. Bharath is good at rap and fast songs and he has an entertaining capacity but he is very worst in melody and deserve to be finalist but not as direct finalist. Anushya is very strong in classical, fast as well as melody and what a expression, omg she really deserves to be the finalist as well as winner. Srisha is also same as anushya very strong in melody and fast songs and expression just takes off everyone to her world, I hope she deserves to be the finalist and she is far far better than her friend Hari Priya. Pravasthi is good in melody and fast songs but not so good in classical, but she deserves to be finalist. Jessica is good at melody but very bad at classical or other jornals. She sings well but dont deserve to be finalist and please dont vote for her in the name ilangai tamil. I can see and hope most of you agree that she has been taught by her parents about when to cry and how to create sympathy.

I don't think it would have been told by her parents. The kid is known to be sensitive and might be some thoughts about the song being the final song before the voting stops. She would have gone emotional about it. In any case, I agree crying doesn't help, but I don't think it is a drama of any sort.

ReplyDeleteMay be, I am no authority to comment on music... But I feel Pravasthi sings always one note down throughout the competition. I don't have complaints on the singing of the elder children Sreesha or Haripriya, they obviously are great talents with great voice and rightfully deserve a place in finals.Anal Aakash is good but I feel he doesn't suit all genre of songs, ex. fast songs. Spoorthi is a great talent and she deserves a place in the finals. Jessica is the best voice in the entire group in my humble opinion and sings very well too. Bharath is good only for fast numbers and rap types. I feel Jessica should have replaced him in the finals list of competitors. Anushya is very passionate about whatever she sings and gives her 100% and is determined to do well in every song. Such sincerity and brilliant singing needs a revert and she must be in the finals too. Shivani and Monica are having great voice and dynamics and sing well too, but among the lot, there are other kids who are more suitable to enter finals and it is unfortunate for them.

DeleteSrisha is going to win the title. This is strategy well played by Vijay TV by holding her from being a direct finalist. She is going to win the wild card with top votes . By this, it will be established that Srisha has more public support. If she wins the final voting , all will think that she has public support. This will look like the person who deserved won. Wild card judges showed more favouritism to Srisha's singing esp. TR Mahalingam Sir and James Vasanthan who have reputation for unbiased judging. Srisha is a good singer, no doubts about that. I also want to know what others think about the sound engineering differences for different contestants in this show. For some contestants , it has all the shrilling , echoing effects and for others , it is just plain. May be it is my guess. I may be wrong.I am sure the results will be like the unexpected happened as there was favoritism for a particular contestant from the beginning.

DeleteBest of luck to Srisha and Anushya in the finals, whose honey voices are very sweet sounding. They both have improved a whole lot with minimal formal training. Spoorthi's voice tone is not so sweet as them although she handles tough classical songs very well due to her training. Haripriya has got versatility in her singing and did well on the 1-on-1s to enter the finals. Bharath, the sole dude, will rock as always. Jessica is good in certain genres and should stick to her strongest abilities.

ReplyDeleteIt's called reality show for a reason...so having said though I'm not Jessica fan at least I can say Vijay TV did not manipulate the vote. Tamils all over the world is going to continue supporting her....It shows in her vote tally 14 lakhs which is close 60% of the final vote went to this one girl. The others are going to have split votes and irrespective she is a great singer or not she might just win the title and if she doesn't then Vijay TV definitely would have manipulated the result. Her only weakness is her stage fright , I think and she had worked , sacrificed and fought hard and absolutely deserved a spot in the finale. At this stage it is not about who can sing well...they all can ...it's who the public feel close too and can resonate their story. I don't think Jessica needs the house but perhaps my guess Anushya likely does more than any other contestant. Srisha should be title winner in my opinion as I believe she is the best singer of the lot....Good Luck and can't wait for the finale..

Let us not forget that this competition is an open competition - meaning - anyone from any part of India can participate provided they can sing in Tamil, so now we cannot bitch about non Tamil children doing better. I too am Tamil, but I will support anyone with talent rather than to discriminate based on age, ethnicity, religion etc. a progressive society sees things beyond these silly attitudes. As an Indian living abroad I dislike it when I am passed over for promotion etc because I am not indeginous, I wish to be treated equally and my talent recognised and not be discriminated. Take in to consideration the selection of songs is the main point of view. And I like to listen mostly Illayaraja's soft songs, Singers P.Susila, Vanijeyaram, Janaki, S.B.Balu, T M S. These songs will live until end of this world.

In reality shows, crying works!! The winner will naturally be the best crier. In the past also it proved. Sai Charan's mom cried, he won. Diwakar mon cried "kastamakkudhu kastamakkuthu" and he won. This season best crier is Haripriya's mom. So the amount of crying and sympathy created by Haripriya's mother will win her the title. The best in talent is spoorthy will get the 4th place - that is vijay tv. we are fools watching this program repeatedly.

They will keep one boy in the list. Bharath will be there for sure within 1/2/3. He will select the song like Aajith in finals to change his voice tone and shout with different tones.
Jessica - They are keeping in finals to get the international viewer support. But she won't be in Top 3.
Spoorthi - She knows only classical, so not 1st. May be with classical standing ovation. If there is a plan to keep her in 1 or 2. Just watch, the front row people who knows music will stand to show their predefined result.
Anushya - Husky voice. Unique. She can sing just the Male portion of songs.
Srisha & Haripriya are in same boat. They may win or lose like Sonia & Parvathi. Mesmerizing voice for both of them.
Lets c...but I dont think bharath will be the 1st, he is just good in fast and rap songs, when it comes to melody or classical he flunks.
DeleteAfter reading all the comments and listening to this weeks program with the great Smt. Vanijayaram, my views are all the six singers are really deserving to be there and I give six star for Spoorthi, fallowed by Anushya, Bharat, Srisha, Haripriya and last being Jessica.

ReplyDeleteshe is not the best singer out there but absolutely the most improved in all the seasons I have seen...reminds me of the senior super singer who won 2nd place ( his mom was on wheel chair) who lacked so much confidence and she is in the same bout but has worked tremendously on that. I guess everyone thru their eyes might have different criteria for winners and perhaps you are right she may not be the best singer but definitely has the potential to be winner.

Shrisha Voice is toooooo Good and nice to hear melodies from her voice Jesicka also has beautiful voice... Jesicka Improved lot... and the last one Haripriya... Even one is doing hard-work... Even though I dont like haripriya... who may be tittle winner but haripriya shouldn't win the tittle... The judges wants to support her means they can bring me a chance as playback singer. How they can support her specially in a reality show... Rakshitha also lost her father after she entered in Super Singer Show... If she is also participating in this season means the Judges will do same support to her????? Or may be haripriya comes from singer family, In last season Malavika also came from musical family... Is the Judges Supported her???? What happen to these Judges????
ReplyDeleteHaripriya does not need the judges support in this contest to be a playback singer, she already has sang in movies...what she needs is the house so this 14 year old girl can put a proper roof over her family....I'm not her fan but her story is very compelling...

DeleteA lot of you'll are talking about age an we must remember the kids cannot be faulted for aging up during the competition. If the rule says at the start of competition you are 14 or under even if they age up next day, rule is rule. Now after seeing every profile, though I am not a huge fan of Haripriya I just think she deserves the house and the title as no 14 year old should be supporting their family in this day and age....her story is huge and though I believe Srisha should be the title winner , I think Hari Priya needs it more...
ReplyDeleteI do agree that kids cannot be blamed for aging up but its the super singer responsibility to select the kids at the preliminary selection according to the norms of the super singer junior. As per the super singer junior advertisement it is a competition for kids below age 14yrs (kindly refer the website www.supersinger.in). Kindly understand that below 14 yrs means 13+ and not 14+. So it is the responsibility of the judges to select kids who are 13+, so that the super singer junior 4 show had been telecast for 11 months , considering that 11 months now the kids should be 14+. But kindly refer the same website for the age of Srisha, Jessica and Bharath as the all are 15+ which cannot be accepted, are the super singer team trying to fool the viewers??? Else the super singer junior norms should be changed to a talent show below the age of 15.
DeleteThe program is being telecasted for 1yr approximately. So if at all the age of the contestant is 13 yrs and 11 months, then the age of the contestant after 1 yr should be 14yrs and 11 months not 15.
DeleteThe website has clearly mentioned age of each final contestant and 50% are above the age 15. This is really unfair. Kids below the age of 10 should compete with teens of 15. The contestant aged 15 should be considered as seniors and not junior. Vijay tv should not encourage these kind of activity. I had great views and expectation about vijay tv but this is really not accepted. I dont understand is this why they saw''everything is fair in love and war''.
I thought Pravasthi has the "chellakkural" What a shame she didn't make it... :(

ReplyDeletehelllo this is my opinion.vijay tv very very unfair.during 6 finalists promo also i noticed bharath promo was very short compare with others.Spoorthi n haripriya's promo/was very verylong.tq vijay tv.now we didnt see at all baharath promo at all.so many people asking and u just ignore us.i felt that vani jayaram amma is veryvery ood.she gives comments without seeing who is the singer.after wild card chitra amma always supporting srisha only.Vijay tv supporting spoorthi see the facebook always about spoorthi songs only.on dhanush ssj give good comments about bharath,anusha but not there.for god sake vijay tv u need our supports.dont ignore us.p.suseela amma come again muralis daughter is who.hopefully on final dont do this. Most of malaysian lik baharath bsz can sing all types of songs.good luck boy.whether u win the title or not but for malaysian ur are the winner.god always with u .when u sing spiritual songs we can really feel amman blessings.same blessings will be with u boy.all verybest.
ReplyDeleteMy choice is Srisha; but Haripriya or Spoorthi or Bharath will win the title. Those three have one strong technical point in common - Confidence and consistency in rendering. They both are never afraid of the increase in audience or well known celebrity brought to judge. they are the masters of the LIVE singing. so they will win. Haripriya is the breadwinner of the family; Spoorthi has the childish voice still left in her. This is Super singer Junior. Bharath is fantastic as well - but his boyish voice pitch ( neither here as a man nor as a pure childsih voice) is going to pull him down on songs such as Rajavin Parvai Raniyin Pakkam. But only boy in the crowd. there are male chavunists who can make him win.Unfortunately my choice is Srisha - but she may not win. I have been voting for her only. But I know I feel so bad that she may not be able to win.

ReplyDeleteThe moment SPB talked about Haripriya's family in an episode, all the judges are show casing Haripriya as a winner. Why should the judges or the guests talk about the contestant's family matters. I think it is being done purposely. How could Pravasti get eliminated? I am wondering. Judges are showing favouritism. Especially Mano's comments aand his acting like a baboon is ridiculous.

After wild card, lot of expectation was there from Anushya -- but she was not that good in the pre-finals. Her voice was very strained and not like in 'Azhagu malar ada' or 'Nenje nenje'.

ReplyDeleteYes, watching the live telecast, Haripriya is exploiting her father's name to get sympathy votes, Jessica is exploiting Sri Lankan sympathy votes. The fight is between the really merited Spoorthi, Anushya & Bharat.

But how can Jessica come second -- ? Srisha and Bharat are way better than her .Surely only 'cos of internet voting procedure & not on talent. Hope for next season there is no public voting & only merit is considered by the judging panel.
My sincere advice not to join the super singer contest it is only a piracy show. Vijay TV has no right to talk about piracy. We cannot see the voting so how should we believe you. No more public voting only judges we should start a protest!!!!!

Bharath and Anushya - not in 3rd. The Top10 selection itself wrong. Where are the boys singers? To keep some boys in Top 10, they kept Anal Akash and Bharath. No other Go for them.
Worst Season ever. Why Chitra Amma is talking about the people's comments in Final Stage. Do you guys think like we will accept when Chitra amma convey a message about something. NO WAY.
Change the Judge panels first.
Vanthael, ponael - This is what Shuba knows. Not even to able to speak in the musical way of comments.
Mano Sir & Chithra - OK sometimes. Many times, pointing some group of people with Negative comments. Not Good. That means, those kutties are nearing to elimination.
Good singers in the season are Monica, Srisha, Shivani, Haripriya, Pravasthi, Spoorthi ( but not eligible to get 1st place) , Aishwarya, Kumuthini.
Anjelin - Keep some criteria. All small kids are saying rhymes in the very nice way now a days. Don't think like she is the only person in the world to sing rhymes.
Anal Akash : Forgetting songs in the stage, you are keeping him just you do not have other boys in the list (Shame on you people, why are you searching for Talent)
Spoorthi : Just classical/Karnatic (You guys think like if she take the song sang by Aajith (Vanthae mathram) she will win. Don't you have sense?
Haripriya : Good singer from Day1. She is the best progressing singer.
Jessica : Not eligible to be in Top 10. We all know about it very clearly. If you have sympathy on Srilankan Tamilians, go and talk to Srilankan PM. Give all your earnings and sponsor's money to him to accept the Srilankan Tamilians back. Or have a place in Tamil Nadu to keep those people happy.
Do you think, the people stay in Foreign countries will come back to Srilanka. NO WAY. They won't. Just to get Sympathy on every stage programs they are acting. Don't believe. Can you ask Jessica family to stay in Tamilnadu? You cannot. They won't come out from Fancy life and money.

Best Advice to candidates : Do not come to Super Singer if you participated already in Sun Singer. You will get eliminated by Worst comment. Even if you come in Top 10, Top 6. You are not going to be the winner.
Ex: Shivani , Aishwarya, Srisha, Anushya, Many more....

Deletethere is so much talk on age and I think we need to keep certain things in perspective....on dec 31 2013 which was when the kids started sending in their CDs and the contest officially started , the oldest kid in top 6 is still 14 and that's how their criteria works. no one can predict how long a season may run so I think Vijay TVs criteria is right so long you are 14 on dec 31st 2013 , everyone is in. Congratulations to all ! amazing talent , surprise winners but all well deserving in their own way !
