AIRTEL SUPER SINGER JUNIOR 3

Airtel Super Singer Junior 3 has now reached the Finals and today out of 4 contestents only three were selected for Finals.  The three singers who have entered the finals are Gautham, Sukanya and Pragathi.

GAUTHAM:

Gautham has had a tough road so far and has really excelled in various genres though at the beginning he gave an impression that he can sing only folk songs.  The greatest highlight of his performance so far has been the rendering of song from the epic film "Karnan" - Ullathil nalla ullam urangaathenbadu.  I saw this performance on TV and had tears in my eyes.  Today when i looked at the youtube video of this song again my eyes were filled with tears.  This is truly extraordinary performance full of emotions and it is unbelievable that a boy of 13 is able to bring such emotions that too in front of a large audience which included legends like Sudha Raghunathan, Bombay Sisters, Aruna Sairam, UnniKrishnan, Rajkumar Bharathi and Nithyashree

.

SUKANYA:

Sukanya has learnt carnatic music and has improved a lot over the last few months.  She is very comfortable in all the genres.  The best thing I like about her is her ability to take up tough songs and do full justice.  She is one of the best singers produced by Airtel Super Singer Junior 3 and she has been giving a very tough competition to the other contenders through her performance.  She has been constantly raising the bar and is an incredible singer.  Her best performance was "Ezhu swarangalukkul ethanai paadal":

PRAGATHI:

Pragathi is the most popular singer in the Airtel Super Singer Junior 3.  She has improved by leaps and bounds over the last few months.  Initially she showed promise only on western genre but slowly improved on other facets and today is capable of singing all the genres with ease.

AAJITH:

Apart from the three singers who have entered the finals there is Wild Card Round and my favourite singer in the wild card is Aajith.

Aajit is so young and small but his ability to mix emotions in the song is exemplary.  It is amazing how at this young age he is able to remember the lyrics, emotion and is able to perform so well.  One of his best performance was "Uyire" which he sang with ease as duet along with the legendary National Award Winner Singer Chitra.

Let us wait for the finals and see who ultimately becomes the "Super Singer Junior 3".  All the best to the finalists and let the best singer win.

  1. Re : Super Singer Junior 3

I have been a regular viewer of the programme Super Singer Junior 3 which was telecasted on Vijay TV for almost a year.

We viewed the grand finale of this programme on 26th Oct 2012 with great expectations and were extremely disappointed to see that a deserving candidate was not selected as the title winner. The whole world knows who the talented singers are and who deserves the title "Super Singer". However, due to reasons best known to Vijay TV a very junior singer with limited ability was selected as the title winner.

Vijay TV has done a great injustice to the budding and extremely talented singers who proved their ability during the last one year, by ignoring them at the grand finale.

We are aware that Master Aajith is a talented young singer who has great potential. But does it mean that extremely talented and knowledgeable singers like Ms Pragathi and Ms Sukanya can be ignored ? There is absolutely no comparison between these two young girls and Master Aajith who is too young to compete with them and without any carnatic music knowledge.

In case the final decision was made based on the votes received by SMS and on Web, then Vijay TV should seriously re-look at the system they follow in selecting the winner. If the voting was the only method to select the winner, then it defies the whole logic of this programme and makes a mockery of the whole show. It is very surprising to see that Vijay TV followed a voting system which allowed a person to send multiple SMSs and unlimited voting through web. A general viewer, normally, will send one SMS to vote for the candidate
of his choice. However a person with vested interest can send 1000s of SMSs if his cost can be taken care of. Why cannot we suspect that organised mass voting funded by the interested parties took place in this particular case ? If the popularity of a candidate was judged by honest and ethical voting, then it is acceptable. But if the system was misused using money power, then the programme loses its shine and the whole purpose of holding such a contest is defeated.

How can the candidates who were endorsed as highly talented by the judges who monitored their performance for almost a year and with proven ability become losers when it comes to voting ? I should say that Vijay TV has thoroughly disappointed its viewers who feel let down.

  2. I love our dear Aajith...
But I hate the voting system and the audience without proper music taste. They just love shouting and know nothing about real talent.
Anywayz, All the best to Aajith and My favorite Pragathi.
